Chocolate Chia Pudding

I have a go-to chia pudding recipe that I’ve used for a while but was recently introduced to a new one that does not require the use of avocado.  I’ve included both versions below.

Chocolate Chia Pudding (without avocado) Ingredients:

  • 1/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 c chia seeds
  • 1.5 c almond milk (or coconut milk)
  • 1/4 t sea salt
  • 2-4 T maple syrup, ~5 pitted dates, or honey to desired sweetness

Chocolate Chia Pudding (with avocado) Ingredients:

  • 2 very ripe hass avocados
  • 1/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 c chia seeds
  • 1/3 c honey or maple syrup
  • 1 T coconut oil
  • 1/2 t ground chia seeds

Directions (regardless of version):

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until combined
  • Cover pudding and place in refrigerator overnight or for several hours until set

Note: I’ve added vanilla and cinnamon to this and found it to over power the chocolate flavor.
